Three non-profits (and counting)

The Words in Transit initiative has been moving along. We’re still in the preliminary stages of contacting students, translators and non-profits, but we do have some participants signed on already. Three non-profit organizations that will be providing Words in Transit with up to 2000 words per month for our student volunteers to translate are: Association Humanium, a Switzerland-based organization that aims to eliminate child labour in India and improve the living conditions in the country, Eau Vive, a France-based organization that works in Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger and Senegal to give local populations advice and funding to help ensure they have access to drinking water and to help fight malnutrition, and Action Contre la Faim Canada, the Canadian office of Action Contre la Faim, which carries out nutrition, food security, water and sanitation, health, and advocacy programs in 40 countries.

If you’re a professional translator and would like to help support these organizations, please visit our Get involved! page to find out how you can participate in the Words in Transit initiative.
